This place is amazing. Authentic. They offer chicken for those not into lamb. Absolutely full of flavor!

I've been to this little place a few times and each time my expectations were surpassed. Don't let the unassuming structure fool you, as this restaurant delivers big flavor and very hearty portions. In fact, the gyro I just ate might even be TOO much to eat for lunch, but I am not complaining. They get the 5th star because the service is always friendly and I appreciate that.

I love Pitaria. I'm really glad they opened the Express. Friendly staff, great food, always tastes fresh! Edit: 3/29/19 I have been eating Pitaria since around 2005, when I discovered them. If asked, it would have easily been my favorite food in Tallahassee and I would have and did, recommend it to everyone. Today, I ordered a Chicken Pita and the Chicken was not of the quality I have come to expect and admire from them. It was rubbery and chewy and either it was frozen and reheated or they are now using a different chicken source. Based on my meal today, I would not suggest Pitaria to someone. I will try again at a later date and hopefully this is just a one-off.

You'll be waiting a bit and it's a...run down building in a weird corner but the food is good. Tofu pita was...interesting, as I don't think teriyaki tofu really matches the personality of pita bread. I thought the prices were reasonable, given that there's not many options for this kind of food in the area. I just wish the building was better and the wait wasn't as long.

Unfortunately, I am here to give a poor review. I used to love this place. It isn't somewhere I visit often (the prices are REALLY high), but when I really crave a gyro or I have a bad day, I like to come here. I usually just get pita fries, but sometimes I get a gyro supreme, pita fries and drink combo (#3). Today, was my last day. It has been going down hill, in flavor and customer service, but tonight was my "straw". I paid a lot of money for extra tsaziki(sp?) sauce which was not present, a gyro supreme which apparently costs more now even though the board says any sandwich included in combo, over friend pita fries with almost no salt, and a spoiled sweet tea. I will also mention that my gyro meat seems a little under done, which worries me after reading others' reviews. If I get food poisoning, I'll update my review. 🙄
